En primer turno, Guido Pella no pudo repetir lo hecho ante Nicolás Jarry y si bien jugó un gran primer set, cayó ante Philipp Kohlschreiber por 1-6, 6-3 y 6-4, en lo que fue el 1-0 para los alemanes.
