La Selección Argentina de tenis femenino se entrena, con la mente puesta en lo que será su participación en la Fed Cup en Chile en el mes de febrero. En los próximos días se sumarán Paula Ormaechea y Nadia Podoroska.
Desde el 5 al 8 de febrero en la ciudad de Santiago, Chile, se jugará una nueva etapa de la Fed Cup que será el inicio del equipo argentino en su ilusión por lograr el ascenso al Grupo Mundial II.
En este sentido, el conjunto que cuenta con Mercedes Paz como capitana comenzó con los entrenamientos, en donde estuvieron presentes tres de las cinco tenistas que conformarán el plantel en tierra chilena.
Entrenando junto con el equipo argentino estuvieron Victoria Bosio, Guillermina Naya y Lourdes Carlé, mientras que en los próximos días se sumarán Paula Ormaechea y Nadia Podoroska que vienen de participar en torneos en el exterior.
Justamente la última campeona panamericana, viene de lograr dos títulos consecutivos. Podoroska se consagró campeona en el W25 de Malibú en Estados Unidos y en el W25 de Petit–Bourg en Islas Guadalupe.
Por otra parte, la Selección Argentina durante su primer día de entrenamiento recibió la visita de la actual secretaria de deportes Inés Arrondo, quien compartió un momento de charlas junto a las jugadoras.
“Las puertas de la Secretaría estarán abiertas, hemos pasado por el lugar de ustedes y las ayudaremos en lo que necesiten. Necesitamos que el deporte sea una alternativa para todos en el país y que yo este ocupando este lugar es una lucha para hacer todas juntas”, expresó Inés Arrondo.
