En primer turno, la dupla femenina compuesta por Ana Gallay y Fernanda Pereyra se impuso ante Canadá por 2-1 con parciales de 21-13, 20-22 y 15-11 en el tie break para quedar en lo más alto del Grupo D.
Luego fue el turno de la selección masculina, integrada por Julián Azaad y Nicolás Capogrosso que en un partido muy parejo venció a Estados Unidos por 2-1 con sets de 19-21, 21-10 y 15-12, también para ganar su Grupo B.
Con estos resultados, los equipos avanzaron a los Cuartos de Final de la competencia, por lo que tendrán jornada libre este sábado y volverán a compertir el próximo domingo, buscando avanzar a semifinales.
