En el marco de la primera fecha dentro del Grupo B de la FIBA AmeriCup que se disputa en la ciudad de San Juan, en Puerto Rico, Argentina no tuvo su mejor encuentro y cayó frente a Brasil por 76-49.
El conjunto dirigido por Leonardo Costa tuvo un segundo cuarto para el olvido, con una muy baja efectividad en el ataque ante la dura defensa brasileña, y lo terminó pagando durante el resto del encuentro.
Dentro de las Gigantes, Andrea Boquete con 10 puntos fue la máxima anotadora, seguida por Luciana Delabarba con 9, mientras que Agostina Burani, Julieta Alé y Victoria Llorente finalizaron con 7 puntos cada una.
Pese a la derrota, no hay tiempos para lamentos en Argentina. Durante la tarde del martes jugará su segundo encuentro en el certamen, frente a Paraguay.
