En el fútbol, en donde la Selección Argentina ya se encuentra clasificada para la rama masculina, la principal modificación está vinculada al límite de edad. Debido al cambio de año, el COI permitirá Sub-24 en las delegaciones.
De esta forma, el entrenador Fernando Batista podrá contar entre su plantel si así lo dispone y los clubes lo permiten, de jugadores como el goleador Lautaro Martínez y el defensor Gonzalo Montiel, entre otros.
